Modern Slavery Statement
Bayswater Movers Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Bayswater Movers is committed to conducting business ethically, responsibly, and in full compliance with applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human trafficking. This statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Bayswater Movers adopts a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, child labour, servitude, and any form of exploitation. We will not knowingly engage with, support, or do business with any individual or organisation involved in such practices, directly or indirectly.
All directors, managers, employees, contractors, and suppliers are required to act with integrity, respect human rights, and uphold the principles outlined in this statement. Any breach of this commitment is treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, or referral to relevant authorities.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Bayswater Movers operates within the removals and logistics sector, providing moving and associated services for residential and commercial clients. Our operations rely on a range of suppliers and service providers, including transport partners, equipment suppliers, facilities providers, and labour agencies.
We recognise that certain parts of our supply chain and sector may carry a heightened risk of labour exploitation. We are committed to identifying and assessing these risks and implementing proportionate controls to prevent and mitigate modern slavery.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We expect all suppliers and business partners to share our commitment to human rights and ethical conduct. As part of our supplier onboarding and renewal process, Bayswater Movers seeks assurances that suppliers comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws.
Our expectations include the prohibition of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour; the prohibition of child labour that is unsafe, exploitative, or in breach of local law; fair and lawful wages and working hours; and safe, healthy, and non-discriminatory working conditions. Where appropriate, we require suppliers to confirm that they have their own policies and procedures in place to prevent modern slavery.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Bayswater Movers undertakes risk-based assessments of its supply chain and may conduct audits or request evidence of compliance where higher risks are identified. These audits may include reviewing documentation related to labour practices, recruitment processes, worker contracts, training records, and health and safety procedures.
Where concerns are identified, we engage with the supplier to understand the issues and agree on corrective actions within a defined timeframe. If a supplier fails to address significant concerns or demonstrates unwillingness to improve, Bayswater Movers reserves the right to suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking within our business or supply chains. Reports can be made confidentially through internal reporting channels to management or a designated senior representative, and individuals are encouraged to provide as much factual detail as possible to support an effective investigation.
Bayswater Movers does not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises concerns in good faith. All reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and, where appropriate, escalated to relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our workforce, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management. Training and guidance are provided to help relevant staff identify warning signs, understand our policies, and know how to report concerns.
We also encourage open dialogue with suppliers to promote best practices and reinforce the importance of ethical conduct and respect for human rights.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Bayswater Movers recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous review and improvement. We regularly assess the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence, and monitoring measures and update them as needed to respond to emerging risks and regulatory changes.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed at least annually by our leadership team. Any significant changes to our approach or procedures will be reflected in an updated statement and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Bayswater Movers, who take overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with the principles and commitments set out above.
